Story of Television, The (1956)
RCA's corporate history of pre-1956 developments in television.
Includes TV "firsts" such as: first president to be televised, first televised baseball game, etc. David Sarnoff talks with Vladimir Zworykin about television's early development at RCA. The last third of the film breaks into color and talks about the development of color television. The whole makes for an interesting combination of industrial film and archive of early classic television.

Magic in the Air (1941)

A simple explanation with animated diagram shows the basic principles of television, this newest magic of the ether waves. This film takes you behind the scenes of television studios at Radio City, shows you the construction of the iconoscope, which is the sender and of the kinescope which is the receiver.
Magic in the Air (1955)
There were some changes in the progress of television between 1941 and 1955. Mirrors were no longer needed to correct the reverse picture, picture tubes were larger, and color was being introduced by RCA. The 1955 version of "Magic In The Air” is essentially the same 1941 film with a minute of new scenes and the promotion of GM cars.

And also brings up the new field of Television. It explains what requirements will be needed. For its time, this informative film was excellent for the high school student.
