| Featuring 4 Full Length 30 Minute Episodes
Petticoat Junction was one of a number of rural comedies to emerge in the 1960's. First seen in September of 1963, Petticoat Junction centered around Kate Bradley, who ran the Shady Rest Hotel, located in the farming valley of Hooterville. Hooterville's life was thanks to the train, the Cannonball, which ran right through town and past the Shady Rest.
Kate had three beautiful daughters, Billie Jo, Bobbie Jo and Betty Jo, who were constantly being sought after by numerous men. Also, living at the hotel was Uncle Joe Carson who acted as a on again off again repairman.
In 1965, the series was changed to color and also marked the change to a different actress playing Billie Jo and Bobbie Jo. A year later, another actress took over the role of Billie Jo. Then in 1967, Bea Benaderet, who portrayed Kate Bradley, fell ill and was seen occasionally until her death in 1968. At that point, Uncle Jo took over running the Shady Rest and June Lockhart was introduced as a lady doctor.
Other characters include, Charlie and Floyd who were the engineers that ran the Cannonball. Steve was the crop duster who won the heart of Betty Jo in 1967. They eventually wed and had a daughter, Kathy Jo. Sam Drucker ran the General Store in town.
